Description
The Moloko mushroom, also known as Psilocybe cubensis, is a pan-tropical species. It has a cap that is 1.6–8 cm (0.6–3.1 in) in size, and is conic to convex when young. As it ages, the cap becomes broadly convex to plane, with a smooth and sticky surface.
The cap’s color is brown, but paler to almost white at the margin. With age, it fades to more golden-brown or yellowish. When bruised, all parts of the mushroom stain blue.
Moloko may also refer to the Irish-English electronica-pop duo Moloko’s song “The Time Is Now”.
